A passionate and true hospitality professional who lives by the phrase “Think Global, Act Local” –This is how Mr. Kazi Moazzem Hossain, the present EXCO member and Director of Food & Beverage at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka is described by his colleagues and contemporaries in the field of Hospitality and Tourism industry.
Mr. Kazi, a patriotic Bangladeshi national hailing from the vibrant deltas of Feni district in Southern Bangladesh. Being a wholehearted hotelier and lover of good food from a young age, he took up the dare of testing himself in a dynamic and challenging environment early on in his career when he shifted to Saudia Arabia, followed by the United Arab Emirates soon after.
Academically, he completed his graduation from Bangladesh also Bachelor of business administration from Emirates academy of hospitality management, In addition to his primary qualifications, he is an enthusiastic learner and have completed countless hours in certificate training courses related to the field of Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Food Safety Management and Leadership. He has several qualifications for completing the “Train the Trainer” program under different world-renowned hotel chains such as Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group (Radisson) & the Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG). Even today, he feels eager to learn every day from all sources. He envisions himself as an eternal student who can never learn enough in this dynamic field of profession.
During his time in the Middle East, he was among the chosen few from the South Asian region who grew through the ranks, rising from the Head Waiter position all the way to the Restaurant & Bar Manager in the prestigious Ramada Plaza at the Dubai Marina. It was only possible due his sincerity, dedication and hard work which propelled him to excel in a difficult environment where it is very rare for the professionals from our Sub continental region to flourish so fast and so far.
Upon his return to Bangladesh in 2014, he took up charge of the F&B Department and Banquet Events at the Ocean Paradise Hotel & Resort, Cox’s Bazar. It was his first initiation with local tourism and hospitality sector as his career in this field had started from foreign deployment in its initial stages. Mr. Kazi was handpicked by the Carlson Rezidor management team which was operating at the Radisson Blu Chittagong property, which was a major career move for him. Taking the mantle of F&B Manager with Head of Department position for a such a major hospitality group like Radisson was no walk in the park. He familiarized himself with the necessary leadership, technical and reporting skills needed to successfully operate in such a major brand and property within a very short time. Here again, he rediscovered his innate desire to learn, develop and grow through self-motivation alone. He would often struggle to find time for learning these new skill sets and would spend countless nights awake going through the tutorials, online trainings, and webinars to bring myself up-to speed. Alhamdulillah, it has all paid of many times over in my professional career.
Mr. Kazi’s next major move was to the hustle and bustle of our beloved capital city Dhaka, the epicenter of the country’s Hospitality and Tourism industry. In 2018, he joined the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka, which is the most iconic property in the country in terms of its heritage, history and contribution to the country’s economic and social growth from infancy to adolescence. According to him, being engaged as an Executive Committee Member (EXCOM) and leading the most dynamic hotel team as the Director of Food & Beverage has been the most exciting and enlightening time of his career till date. Mr. Kazi says that he still wakes up every day relishing the challenges of the day at hand, pondering on the different possibilities and opportunities that will cross his path. From meeting and greeting heads of state and global dignitaries to world famous sports teams and managing back-to-back banquet events with 1000 plus covers each day, The Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka is like a large Jumbo Jet in terms of scale of operations. As its Co-Pilot, Mr. Kazi give his heart and soul to ensure it does the very best that can be done in every way. He lives and strives by the principal that he must be able to look at myself in the mirror when the day ends and ask myself directly – Have I done all that I could for my work and colleagues today? The answer, on most days is YES.
Mr. Kazi’s sincerity and dedication has been rewarded several times with many awards and felicitations, which make for fond memories of recognition and appreciation from his many engagements at home and abroad. However, for him the real take away are the sincere greetings and warming smiles from his subordinates, colleagues and blessings of his seniors which they bless him with every day. It is the real reward to be loved and cherished in the way that he conducts himself. He counts that as a true blessing from the almighty as he has always given respect to all ranks, often going out my way to help them get through the many challenges in life. To be reciprocated for this in the overwhelming manner is truly rewarding for him.
Apart from his profession, he loves to spend my time with his family consisting of his beloved wife, 3 daughters and 2 sons. he loves to travel and he is involved in various initiatives dedicated to local welfare, charity and social service. He loves to go the extra mile for those in need and tries to give back to my community and surroundings, being a strong believer in the concept of “INCLUSIVE GROWTH”.
He dreams of the day when hospitality professionals from Bangladesh will be leading the global brands in various capacity and he will be remembered from making the humblest contribution for that landmark.
Philosophically, he is fun-loving, optimistic and progressive minded person with a strong belief in the Almighty Allah, upon WHO’s will he have submitted his heart, mind, and soul completely.
